Summary
Over fifteen years experience in the IT industry working in administration and web development. Administration and maintenance of a wide variety of systems including: Unix, Linux, Windows and Netware. Web site development with HTML 1.0 to XHTML 1.x and CSS. Application and web site development using server-side scripting such as ColdFusion and PHP. Developed an application to create user accounts in a hybrid Active Directory and eDirectory environment utilizing information from a legacy system.

I have also continuously sought consulting jobs in the web development arena, especially as my job moved away from development actively at the school. I have been actively working in PHP, but also I have worked with ColdFusion as there are few developers in the area working with that. My last job was to convert a client's ColdFusion site to PHP for hosting limitations. I also consult with other devolopers, including the ones at the school, on occaion to try to solve issues. In the past, for the college, I have created a complete student account maintenance program in SQL and ColdFusion. I also created the initial campus phone directory and it has evolved to become the single point of entry for account maintenance for the entire campus.

Professional Experience

Everett Community College, Everett, WA
September 1998 - November 2007
Worked in a variety of roles during my time with the college. I started as a student lab technician and worked as an unofficial head technician. I provided guidance and leadership to the newer technicians. I also worked along side the IT staff to help maintain the operational status of the various computer labs. After I was hired to an official part-time hourly, and later a permanent employee, I continued in that role to oversee the labs. When the college had their web site redone by an outside vendor, I was moved to work with the contractors and the campus community to facilitate communication between the two. I then moved into the role of sole web developer working to maintain and extend the functionality of our web site. I was also tasked with the creation of custom web applications to help delegate the responsibility of maintenance of the site to the campus. I helped to train the new hires in the Web Services department . I became the official lead of the four other employees in the Web Services area. During this time I served as the technical voice of the campus Web Steering committee. I also became involved in a state-wide project as a member of a group of developers and DBAs to help shape a complete rebuild of the core computing system for the state community and technical colleges. My focus then moved more to the administration side, maintaining the web infrastructure and working to integrate with the college network more thouroughly. During this, I became involved with the structure and maintenance of the Active Directory systems. I was one of the primary maintainers of the newly installed VoIP system, utilizing Cisco Call Manager and Unity. I also was involved with the initial setup of CiscoWorks LMS and with configuration and backup of Cisco switches on our network.
